EMILEE MARIE LEAVENS
CIVIC + CULTURE
In my portfolio, I showcase a variety of civic and cultural projects, including spaces that enhance community engagement, such as inviting public libraries and cultural centers that celebrate local heritage. I also include modern community hubs designed for interaction, as well as transformative museum spaces. Additionally, I highlight the design of criminal justice and judicial spaces, ensuring they are both functional and welcoming. Each project reflects my commitment to fostering cultural connections and improving community life through impactful design.
Indio Family and Juvenile Courthouse
A new tilt-up concrete structure courthouse in Indio, CA, features thoughtful nods to the history of mid-century modern design and its significant influence on the iconic vernacular design of Palm Springs and nearby desert cities. The new family and juvenile courthouse offers a range of public resource spaces, including family counseling, courtroom support, mediation, and meeting areas.
